While training to run a marathon Angel picked up Yoga as a cross training exercise and promptly fell in love. The benefits were evident and long lasting. Soon she had her children doing yoga with her. Shortly thereafter she was diagnosed with a heart condition and had to undergo surgery. Not being able to return to running Yoga became a lifeline, a way to recover both physically and spiritually during a tough season of life. Impassioned by how Yoga helped her in this journey she attended Yoga Teacher Training. Now she shares her love of Yoga and the impact it can have physically, emotionally and spiritually on both body and Spirit.

I have always struggled with finding an exercise format that I truly enjoyed. I finally fell upon yoga by accident while in highschool and slowly fell in love with it. When I came to college, I began to further my practice by becoming a group fitness instructor at the GSU RAC and attending fitness conferences throughout the year. I now enjoy what I do at my job! I love meeting new people, building new relationships and sharing my knowledge of yoga, as well as learning more about it in the process. I have been teaching for a few years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am a 200 hour CYT and I can not wait to practice with you all!

Justine is a 300 Hour RYT, 200 Hour E-RYT, and holds a Masters in Exercise Science. She teaches a dynamic vinyasa flow that is inspired by Lotus Flow®. Lotus Flow’s mantra is “Move like yourself.” Her classes will encourage authentic movement that links the breath and the body to the rhythm music utilizing the forms and shapes of the yoga asanas. Justine has been teaching Group Fitness classes for 16 years, but began teaching yoga in 2008 at Georgia Southern University. She has since completed her 200 Hour Certification at Savannah Yoga Center and 300 Hour Certification at Laughing Lotus Yoga in NYC. She is grateful for her teachers Kelley Boyd, Dana Trixie Flynn, Mary Dana Abbott, and Lauren Magarelli. When she is not on her mat she is an Exercise Science Lecturer at Georgia Southern University, mom to two cats and a dog, healthy food enthusiast, and at home co-chef with her husband Tim.

I grew up being a very active kid. I tried everything from Martial Arts, to gymnastics, to volleyball and track and field. I had fallen away from athletics in high school and as I entered college at the University of Central Florida I was looking for an outlet to help cope with stress and found yoga in the Group Exercise program. At first, I found myself very frustrated with my lack of flexibility and strength. Over time, I discovered that yoga classes were about so much more than just stretching or getting a workout in. I fell in love and began teaching as a Group Exercise Instructor in my sophomore year. Now, two years later, I have started as a Fitness Graduate Assistant Georgia Southern University and hope to continue to pursue my passion for teaching yoga and helping people discover and reach their goals. Yoga is truly a practice, and teaches me more about myself every single day. It allowed me to separate my ego from my practice and bring awareness into my body without holding judgement. I currently hold a Yoga Practical Instructor Certification through AFAA and plan to pursue a 200 Hour YTT.

I found yoga when I was looking for a low impact workout that wouldn’t aggravate an old knee injury I had. I quickly fell in love with how yoga made my body feel. For the next 8 years I continued to practice both in studio and at home. It was a long time dream to become a yoga teacher, but the timing never seemed to work. When Sacred Space announced they would be hosting Yoga Teacher Training I just could not pass up the opportunity. Fall 2018 I received my RYT-200 Certification as well as a Barre Certification.
It is my belief that yoga really is for everybody and every body. I enjoy bringing yoga to those who think they might not be flexible enough, young enough, or strong enough to do it. There is a class for everyone whether it be getting into the deep connective tissues with Yin, sweating it out in a Vinyasa or Barre and Yoga fusion class, or focusing on alignment and breathwork in a Hatha class. Sharing the benefits of yoga with my community is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever had the privilege of doing.
When not in the studio I can be found at my GA Air National Guard base or homeschooling my beautiful kiddos.

It wasn't until I neared middle age that I discovered how good my body could feel with regular exercise. When I began practicing yoga as part of my routine, I quickly realized the benefits both physical and mental. I'm excited to have recently completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training so that I can share my love of yoga with others.
I am a mom to four grown daughters, and two spoiled labradors, and a grandmother to two little boys who light up my world.
Formerly a collegiate athlete, I first learned of yoga only in terms of its physical benefits, helping me in recovery and injury prevention. It wasn't until in recovery for an eating disorder that I found yoga for its mental benefits. Yoga taught me how to be kind to myself, how to drop comparisons, and that I was capable of more than I ever knew. I decided to attend yoga teacher training and discovered even more about what yoga could do, pushing me to be vulnerable and really finding out what my body and mind could do. Since completing my 200 RYT, it has been my goal to create a space in which others can find similar things through their own practice. I believe yoga has something for everyone regardless of who you are, what your past is, or what you currently think you can or can't do. When I'm not on my mat, you can find me on GSU's campus as a master's student studying sport & exercise psychology.
Yoga entered Kevin’s life while he was unable to walk due to a rugby injury. After weeks of rehabilitation, he began to realize the benefits of the practice were expanding past just the physical aspects that yoga has become renown for. As mobility and strength returned to his body, a new sense of clarity entered his everyday life as the practice of mindful exercising had cultivated a new perspective. Wanting to share this new-found passion, Kevin became an instructor at Georgia Southern University, working with athletic teams, group fitness and various other organizations on campus. Training for water polo, he now uses yoga as a cross training exercise for both strength and recovery. He offers challenging classes designed to improve stability, mobility and flexibility while strengthening the core and increasing the range of motion in the joints. Each class offers something new and unique and is open to people of all skill levels. Serving in the Georgia Army National Guard, Kevin also works with veterans through the Sacred Service program at Sacred Space.
Kevin is currently deployed. Our thoughts and prayers are with him during this time and we eagerly await his return.
